Ooey, gooey mess

What happened to you old Nickelodeon Gak? Find out on this episode of Forgotten Cinema as the Mikes take on the 1988 remake of The Blob, starring Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith.

Field and Butler talk about their love of the practical effects in this remake of the 1958 horror classic of the same name. The Mikes also discuss how the proliferation of slasher flicks in the 80s killed any hopes of success that a sci-fi alien horror remake might have had back then. Kevin Dillon's mullet is also mentioned more than once.

So grab your popcorn, and soda, please notice the exits at the front and rear of the auditorium, and settle down for Forgotten Cinema.

This episode was recommended by cinematographer (and director of The Usher) and friend of the Mikes, Adrian Peng Correia. Thanks Adrian!
