- Join the Forgotten Cinema Community
While the main podcast show doesn't premiere until May 1, 2024, that's not the first piece of content we'll be putting out. One factor to our return is the inclusion of our patreon . For those who are not familiar with patreon — it's a subscription service that provides you with varying levels of access to bonus content, more access to me and Butler, control over our shows and content, discounted merchandise and freebies! We thought this would be the best way to build and grow the Forgotten Cinema community. Mike and I have always liked interacting with our listeners and other moviegoers and if we could create a place where that can happen, plus help the show along the way, why not go with patreon? To give you an idea of what this looks like. We'll be doing a show about the upcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire release, both on YouTube and the podcast. We'll be live-streaming this episode and if you're a patron, you would be able to watch us live and ask us questions (or heckle us) as we go. Also, if you're a patron, we're covering all the Ghostbusters movies leading up to the release of Frozen Empire. Each of those episodes will be available for patrons only. But hey, it's cool, if you'd rather stick to the main show coming May 1st. We still love you and appreciate your support. Even if you're unsure about becoming patron, save the link and when you're ready, we'll still be there. Thanks!
- We're back!
Again...We're back! Did you hear the news? We're coming back. Starting May 1, 2024, Forgotten Cinema will return to its regularly schedule programming. Apparently, Field needed a year off while Butler hid in the weeds, playing the long game, waiting patiently for his chance to bring back the brand bigger and better than ever. And that's exactly what's going to happen. Be on the lookout for what we've got planned. Forgotten Cinema's brand is growing. Catch up on older episodes from the podcasts. Check out our various video series! More than a podcast That's right. Forgotten Cinema is growing, flourishing brand that has fun watching and discussing films and we're a safe haven for film buffs of all ages! We're looking to grow our community through patreon and bring even more access to the Mikes process and work into making Forgotten Cinema.
- Forgotten Commercial | Digging Sleepy Hollows
Butler is digging holes in Field's yard, in search for the Hessian skull and some kind of power. Who knows what these two do anymore. Check out Digging Sleepy Hollows! Haven't heard the show yet? Well then...choose your portal: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Amazon Music | More Links
- Forgotten Horror | Sleepy Hollow
This episode the Mikes are traveling to upstate New York in search off the headless horseman. It's Sleepy Hollow! Though Tim Burton is known for his spooky and macabre avante garde style, he never released a true horror film. That is not until the 1999 Johnny Depp starrer "Sleepy Hollow." Also starring Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman, this horror film tells the classic tale Washington Irving tale of Ichabod Crane in with a few twists that make this movie an exciting and Halloween appropriate dive into the world of Forgotten Horror! - Forgotten Commercial | eXistenZ-ing
We're inside of a game that's inside of a game that's inside of another game! And we refuse to admit that this is a clips commercial. We've already done one of those. Haven't heard the show yet? Well then...choose your portal: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Amazon Music | More Links
- Forgotten Horror | eXistenZ
Our second episode of Forgotten Horror V is now live! We're talking about the sci-fi, horror film eXistenZ. That's not a misspelling. The Mikes are hooking up their pods and entering the mind of David Cronenberg circa 1999. Starring Jude Law and Jennifer-Jason Leigh, this film (released before the Matrix) our characters enter a simulated world where not all is as it seems. The Mikes will talk what does and doesn't work, facts about the making of the film and where it stands within the weirdness that is Cronenberg's body of work. - Forgotten Commercial | Backpacking
We brought back the commercials, technically not forgotten, for this new block of episodes! When we looked back at our catalog of content, we marveled at how much we've produced. Over 100 commercials in our time from 2019-2023. Unreal. So doing 6 more didn't seem like any trouble. Until we started doing them again. Just kidding. We had some fun. Here's the first! Enjoy! - Forgotten Horror | An American Werewolf in London
Why, hello there?! Did you miss us? We kick off our 5th season of Forgotten Horror with the forgotten classic "An American Werewolf in London." Listen in as Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss the amazing practical effects by Rick Baker, the reasons John Landis included that weird dream, why Nurse Alex clearly has issues to be in love with David, and WTF is up with all those Disney decorations in her room? Choose your portal: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Amazon Music | More Links But wait, there's more. We're not only producing a new podcast, we've gone video! That's right, you can watch us perform the episode from the Forgotten Cinema studios. So sit back, relax and get spooky y'all! Forgotten Cinema is back!
- Forgotten Horror V
That's right! We're back for a 5 episode special. It's Forgotten Horror V! When we closed down the main run of the podcast, it was for many reasons. Most of which we lay out in our Farewell Episode. Feel free to check it on Spotify , Apple or wherever you get your podcasts. Just because we closed out the show doesn't mean we don't miss it. (I'm aware of the double negative) Deep down, we always knew we'd return in some form and Forgotten Horror is that perfect time of the year to come back. This time around, we're doing something different. Not only are we recording five new episodes for the podcast — see the schedule below — but we'll also be on YouTube in the flesh. All five episodes will be available on our YouTube channel and you can see our faces and expressions as we yell at each other. So make sure to subscribe, follow and like because so you don't miss our first episode on Wednesday, October 4th! Schedule for Forgotten Horror V October 4th: An American Werewolf in London October 11th: eXistenZ October 18th: Sleepy Hollow October 25th: Disturbing Behavior October 31st: Halloween III: Season of the Witch
- We're Back! (Sort of...)
Not only has the old website returned, but we're back doing that Forgotten Cinema brand of an episode. Except, we're taking over another podcast. That's right, the 3rd installment (I think it's 3, maybe 4) of Forgotten Takeover has returned as we're taking over The Pint Podcast once again. This block of 4 takeover episodes has a theme. We're covering forgotten sequels. First up? Predators! We're hosting John Amenta and Lloyd Green on their own show, while doing our show! Get it? You can play it right here or seek out the episode at your favorite podcast portal. Stay tuned for the next three in the coming months. Who knows...maybe we'll get inspired to return for good. Enjoy!
