Reports of our demise were fake news! Like Jason, Freddy, Michael, Candyman, Leprechaun, Wishmaster, [Insert Slasher Villain Here], all of them — we're back from the dead to bring you five new films, including our bonus Halloween episode!
And we've got short films for you, too! Enjoy our Halloween III homage.
But, you're here for the movies we covered!
An American Werewolf in London
We kick off our 5th season of Forgotten Horror with the forgotten classic An American Werewolf in London.
We discuss the amazing practical effects by Rick Baker, the reasons John Landis included that weird dream, why Nurse Alex clearly has issues to be in love with David, and WTF is up with all those Disney decorations in her room?
eXistenZ
Our second episode of Forgotten Horror V is here! We're talking about the sci-fi, horror film eXistenZ.
That's not a misspelling. We're hooking up our pods and entering the mind of David Cronenberg circa 1999. Starring Jude Law and Jennifer-Jason Leigh, this film (released before the Matrix) our characters enter a simulated world where not all is as it seems.
We talk what does and doesn't work, facts about the making of the film and where it stands within the weirdness that is Cronenberg's body of work.
Sleepy Hollow
This episode the Mikes are traveling to upstate New York in search off the headless horseman. It's Sleepy Hollow!
Though Tim Burton is known for his spooky and macabre avante garde style, he never released a true horror film. That is not until the 1999 Johnny Depp starrer Sleepy Hollow. Also starring Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman, this horror film tells the classic tale Washington Irving tale of Ichabod Crane in with a few twists that make this movie an exciting and Halloween appropriate dive into the world of Forgotten Horror!
Disturbing Behavior
We're traveling back to the 90's once again to bring you this oh-so-90's horror film Disturbing Behavior.
Field thinks Butler just can't appreciate good trash in this mess of a horror film with a troubled production. Starring James Marsden, Katie Holmes, and Nick Stahl, this film was written and directed by veteran "X-Files" crew; a fact that's about the only thing Butler likes about this film...oh, that and that scene where "Flagpole Sitta" plays, love that song.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
"No more time 'til Halloween! Halloween, Halloween! No more time 'til Halloween, Silver Shamrock!" That's right! We're comin' atcha with a special bonus Halloween episode this year and they're talking...Halloween!...three that is.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch — This third entry in John Carpenter's "Halloween" saga forgoes everyone's favorite unstoppable Shatner-masked killer in favor of...Celtic curses, killer robots, and deadly kids' masks? Oh yeah, it's a weird one. Maligned when it was first released, this outlier entry has become somewhat of a cult classic. So get read for one last ride through Forgotten Horror V!!!
